Welcome to the first public playtest of Kult Rising [v 0.1.6]! This is a short demo of the upcoming alpha, showing a few of the levels we have finished so far. There are currently 2 playable gamemodes, the Backrooms Exploration, and the Sandbox.

Backrooms Exploration
The Backrooms Exploration is predominantly a walking simulator, allowing you to explore various liminal and surreal spaces that blur the lines between reality and nightmares.
There are no entities to chase you in the Backrooms (for now). You can explore freely at your own pace.

Level 0 - The Yellowrooms - 3 clusters
Level 1 - Habitable Zone - 2 clusters

The Sandbox
The sandbox currently consists of the Backrooms cluster 1, along with the basics of our upcoming Horde mechanic which will be the first major content update of the game after our Steam release into early access. For now it just has template guns and a placeholder zombie enemy.
You can also view some of the upcoming SCP models in the sandbox as well. This area will also grow as development continues.
Known Issues/Bugs
When loading into the main gamemode (selecting "Kult Rising" as the level in the map selection screen) your camera will sometimes get stuck above the ceiling when you first load in. To fix this simply open and close your inventory by pressing Tab.
- In the exploration sections, the pause button is Numpad 4 instead of ESC
- Doors in the backrooms exploration levels work the "E" instead of "F"
- Custom Keybinds will be coming soon!
Controls:
- WASD to move
- "T" to toggle your flashlight
- "F" for interact (doors in the Backrooms are bugged and work with "E" instead)
- "C" to crouch
Sandbox Controls:
- "V" switch first/third person
-"Shift + E" slide
- "Mouse Wheel" Switch Weapons

Update 0.1.6.2 is out! we've added another cluster to level 1. Read more about it here!
We will have a patch out for the game in the morning fixing some of the major bugs:
- Pause menu will be implemented
- broken doors will be fixed
- the camera bug when first loading the game will be fixed
The first patch is out, all doors are now functioning and there is an error message explaining the bug when you first load in. The pause menu should be fixed by tonight, but it works if you press num pad 4 for now.
